All parents of children with statements who are coming up to a change in stage of their education, such as transferring to secondary school or going on to a local authority college, should have received what is known as a transfer statement by February 15th. This should be a final statement not merely a proposed one, and it is important that local authorities abide by this so that you will have enough time for a Tribunal hearing to take place if necessary before the end of the summer term.
